Our date with one of Jackson's favorite girls.

Last week we had a play date with Miss. Evie.
To say that Jackson is smitten would be playing it down big time.

Enjoying lunch together. Jackson thinks Evie = Chocolate Milk.
Since when they eat lunch together they get this treat.
;)
 How cute is this!
 I love having a boy but, it is so fun that Evie
will pose for pictures for me.
 Evie gave Jackson this old school shaving kit complete with mustaches.
He has had so much fun with it. He also got some Milano's for Valentines Day from her.
She sure does know the way to this guys heart.
Thanks for such a fun day Evie.
Can't wait for the next "date".

Monday, Monday.

Hope you all had lovely weekends. Ours was great.
Family date night was so yummy and fun.
We had Papa, Nuna, and Charlie over yesterday.
Jackson had a blast chasing Charlie around.

Today I'm moping the kitchen, vacuuming the living room,
taking a shower and wrangling a two year old.
GLAMOROUS, I tell you.
I love days like today though. They help me to get back in the grove.
Tonight we may go visit Aunt Sash's new house. We shall see.

This morning I was making waffles for Jackson and he told me he "needs something" a
favorite saying lately. I went through the list.
Some water? A snack? Sable?
He said "No mommy, A snuggle"
To say we ran to the couch would be an understatement. I love this boy.
These moments are worth their weight in gold. Remember to take them yourself.

Lastly, I have to give a HUGE Thank You to my my niece Charlie because while she was here yesterday. Her and Nuna helped me take the train table from looking like this...

{Good fun with Addison and Tate}
back to this...
Give a 7 year old a puzzle and she had this thing looking spiffy in no time!
Jackson is so glad to have it back together and has said "Charlie fixed it for him" about
100 times already today.
Hope you all have a great week. I am getting Valentines pictures ready,
making enchiladas one night,  playdates with nanny and Evie, maybe seeing a show wed night, and finishing up my headband swap to send off.

NOLA in the ATL

Last week we had some family in from New Orleans.
 It has been the first time since Mardi Gras
 last year that we have seen them. This visit was so much fun. Lot's of laughter, catch phrase, great food, and babies.
Jackson and Marah got the chance to spend some time with Addison and Tate. They had so much fun together. We love you guys and can't wait to see you in March!

They had not seen snow so the "ice/snow" that we got they LOVED!
I spy two little faces in the window watching
mommy and daddy playing. This was so funny.

We also went ice skating one night. To much fun! See the pile of blankets third from the left. That isn't blankets that would be my baby. He feel asleep when we got there and literally woke up two minutes before we left. Poor thing has been asking to go ice skating since so we are going to have to go back.
Addison and Tate got in on the action and Marah was a pro.

Happy Wednesday Lovies.

Snow Day 2 and I got a makeover...

 The snow turned into crunchy hard ice that looks like snow over night, not really conducive to playing outside. We did venture out for a bit and for all the freaking out everyone is doing on the news the roads were totally fine. Granted they had some slush on them but, safe to drive on. We hit up Chick-fil-a and Target and just walked around. Daddy was off again today so it was super nice to just be home again.

I got the chance to take a photography class {Click Workshop} this past Sunday and it was amazing. I have been practicing since. I feel like my exposure is much better it's just going to be nailing focus that might be the death of me. They also offer an advanced class. I am thinking it would be a great {30th} birthday present. I am really excited to take pictures again.

We have family coming in Thursday from Nola. I am so excited. It's always wonderful to have family around and this bunch is so much fun! I am sure I will have pictures galore.

LAST BUT NOT LEAST AT ALL!
Did you notice the gorgeous and oh so us new blog header?!
{that is my favorite family picture we have from the beach this summer}
The lovely Thais of House 09 took me having no idea what
 I wanted and created something that is so me.
I actually won the new header over on her blog
{if you don't follow you must. It is amazing}
I highly recommend working with her. Super sweet and so creative!
Thank You again Thais. You have made me something
 I treasure for sure.

Snowpocalypse 2011

In Ga a ton of snow fell last night and most of us woke up to white yards. Where we are we got a whole 3 inches, some places even got up to 10! Here in the south this is an emergency! Everyone gets out of work and schools are canceled for two days.
It was mighty crunchy by the time we got out to play but, none the less we were out there with every other family playing today.

Here is what today looked like...
Well this was last night before bed.
It was chilly even in the house the am, so
we bundled Jackson up. Ha! He is so stylish.
Jackson getting his "snow" legs

He threw lots of snow balls.

Baby Jackson and Pumpkin came to play too

Jackson and daddy made a snowman named "George" said Jackson.
Check out his Oreo eye's . It was all I could think of for "coal".

CC spent the night last night and got to play in the snow today too. I got some cute shots of her on the sled but, she may kill me if I post them. ;) We also cleaned out some closets and upstairs. It was a lovely and productive day! Good times.

We finished the night off with some hot chocolate and football.
I had mine in my favorite cup. A christmas present from Brian.
That I love.
Daddy doesn't have work again tomorrow. :)
We are having banana pancakes and more
 hot chocolate for breakfast.
Another day like today? Yes, please.

Days like today are just good for the soul.

Laundry Room Renovation

So long story very short.
I *thought* someone broke into our house at 2am Sunday night.
Good news is I was wrong. Bad news is our shelving unit in the laundry room decided to fall. OUT OF THE WALL!
Grrr.  Now the shelves had not been anchored properly and I had wanted to re-do this room since we moved in 5+ years ago but, spending money on a room I wash clothes in is pretty low on our priority list.
Now that being said. In the spirit of the new year and cleaning things out. I dove right in.
 I will admit Brian was not convinced I could get it done with Jackson but, give a girl a dare and watch what she can accomplish. After about day 2 he jumped on board and was a huge help.
I needed some heavy lifting done. :)

This is a before shot {sideways, tilt your head to the left}
The holes are from the shelving falling out.

This mess I can't blame on anyone but, myself.
Clutter, party of one.
NO wonder I hated this room and I always thought
 it was folding the clothes that got me.
{sideways again}
Mess from shelves that fell.
{sideways} This was a top shelf that
didn't fall but, very full of stuff.
This is what our mudroom looks like with everything
 out of the laundry room.
It only took me one day to make this mess. lol
HOLY MOLY I am embarrassed of all that stuff!
After I patched the walls. What a mess and
check out our super modern wallpaper.

Jackson being cute while mommy worked, he asked to
put on this "perfect" shirt with his hat.
He cracks me up.
Primed and getting started painting.
Handsome hubby making a pirate face getting in on the action. Thank the Lord he is tall.
My arms were sore trying to reach the ceiling.
I also followed this tutorial and made
this to put in the room.
AND...
Drumroll please.
The much improved laundry room.
I am so happy we tackled this.
{please ignore my crazy voice. ugh, why is
it so awful to hear yourself on video}

Are you cleaning up/out anything this new years?

Christmas 2010

Two weeks late is better than never... right?
I will let the photo's and video speak for themselves.

Marah got sent on a scavenger hunt by her daddy. She got an Ipod touch at the end.
She was pretty excited.

After Marah went home we went back to our house to see what Santa had brought for Jackson.
He was SO VERY excited.
Seriously made our day.

Here is the video.

Amazing right?!!
Well Merry January the 6th!

xoxo

Come back tomorrow.
I am going to Pay-It-Forward.

Amazing. Fantastic. Wonderful. {the words that come to mind}

This year we are hopeful. Our last 7 days have been filled with family and friends. Lounging around and showing off our beautiful city. We have laughed over lunch. Told stories of past times together. There have been tears of joy, maybe a few fights, crafts, toasts, fireworks, snuggles, kisses, long hugs {the kind where you hold on extra tight so they can last until we meet again}, amazing food, we have stayed up way past our bedtimes, gotten sick together { :/ } , walked, and shopped. It has been fabulous and it was THE way to start of 2011. This year I am full of hope. I am not making resolutions to change this year. Only I am going to be more hopeful and prayerful. I can't think of two more important things.

I have visions of new babies this year {not for us but, ones we will love like our own}, vacations to the beach, maybe the mountains. Weekends of my boys golfing, learning this art of photography, time spent crafting with nanny, and tons of family time I am sure.

Jackson has started carrying on full on conversations. I know every phase of his life I swear it is my favorite but, I really think this one might be it. He is life. He is just this beautiful life. I swear every time I look at him I am more in love with my husband. More in love with what we made together. Lately he has been asking me to sit on the floor for a kiss. We have lots of 10 second snuggles on the kitchen floor. I never want to forget this time.

So this year we toast to another chance to make it right. Another chance to have hope and pray.
We are thankful and full. Ready for the challenges to come. 2010 was a tough year for many people in our lives. We are still praying for the fight some are going through. For a brief moment we weren't sure we would make it but, we did. Our marriage stronger than before. God always keeps his promises.

{from one of those lunches we laughed over}

{Our sweet man}

Happy New Years Lovies

I am going to start holiday recaps soon. :) We have Christmas and New Years
