Jackson's 4th Birthday Party

Jackson got to pick his theme this year and not surprisingly he wanted a baseball party.
We had so much fun celebrating with our friends and family. A big thanks to everyone who helped out! Getting supplies, making food, helping set up and clean up! You made the day so much fun!

The decorations were pretty low key but, very cute. Jackson wanted me to make cupcakes. I will have to add a photo but, instagram is acting funny.
This was one of my favorite things. So funny. I loved everyone getting in it.

The piƱata was a fun part too. That little thing was tough to crack open. All the kids got a few turns and I may have had to step in and beat it open. ;)
Hanging out {where was Amanda?!}, and opening presents. Everyone spoiled our boy even though we said he needed nothing.

Sunday we set out to have a special day with our three year old. Since Monday was his actual birthday.
We had a great lunch, went shopping for some of his favorite snacks and then threw in a family nap!
It was the perfect day.
Snuggles with daddy before our nap and our last good night with our three year old.

Happy Fourth Birthday

My Sweet Jackson,
{Uba, Jack, Booba, Boobs, Monkey, Bubbie, Bub's, Dude}

What a fantastic year it has been. I think this may be the first birthday that has made me sentimental. Tonight in bed we went through the blog and watched old videos and re read your stories. It reminded me on the eve of your birthday just how important this little spot on the internet is to our family.

This year has been amazing. You started playing team sports. I think this is one of those things daddy and I have most looked forward to with you growing up. It has been so fun for all of us! You played soccer this past fall on Team Thunder . Then this spring you joined The Indians for your first season of  t-ball. You are really athletic and loved every moment with both teams. Although, I think the six month difference between sports helped you get into t-ball a bit more. You really enjoyed being on The Indians and two of your baseball friends will actually start schools with you in the fall. We are very excited about this.

This year welcomed two new friends for you. Wyatt and Durham. You are very interested in babies and love these boys so much. You tell us stories about how they are your brothers because you want to be the big brother. It's so sweet. You are such a gentle spirit and great friend.

You love to tell us that you love us. "I love you mommy, I love you daddy" is said many times a day. I love this so much and just this week in the car you said "I love you guys". It makes our hearts shine to think you feel so loved that you want to share it.

This year was not with out it's trials. You really learned independence. Boy, oh boy do you love to do and have things your way. I think this is partially because you are an only child and maybe because you picked it up from  me. ;) We are working on becoming a touch sweeter with our reactions to things not going your way.

You are full of laughter, love to sing (keep me in mind), dance, be outside, play with any ball and read. You still love to snuggle Sable at night. This year your palate for food has exploded. You love shrimp and salmon and ask for them all the time. I love that you like to try new things. It's so fun to watch you explore.

You love your daddy. You ask for him from the moment you wake up and you always worry about him during the day. Especially when you get a little sleepy you will say "I want daddy". Sometimes even on the weekend when daddy is with us. I think it's a really cute habit. I am so glad you two love each other so much. You are the apple of his eye for sure.

You started writing this year some. You can spell your name (when you sit still long enough) and even wrote daddies name on his Father's Day card. I can not tell you how much of a joy you are to us. We simply adore you. We are so proud of the amazing little guy you have become and look forward to the adventures that 4 will bring us all.

Last 3 year old snuggles before bed.

Happy Birthday my sweet man.
We love you so very much,
Mommy & Daddy

I decided while at the beach I am going to learn to play the ukulele. That always makes me think of this song. I think it will be the first one I learn. Now I just need a ukulele.

Thanks to GGC for posting this version. It is perfection.

St. Petes 2012

Ahh, we are back from an amazing beach trip. Every year when we go see Drew it gets harder and harder to come home. It was so much fun. Jackson is such a fish and loves everything about the ocean. Some quick pictures and I'll be back later this week to share more.

I'm ready to go back. Today.

New Look and T-Ball Party!

You guys?! What do you think?
I am absolutely smitten with our new look here on the ol' blog.
Mrs. Kristen completely rocked out this change. She took my crazy jumble of ideas, stick figure drawings and created something that is Oh, so us. Great fonts, chalkboard, a saying from back home that makes us feel warm and fuzzy. I am completely in love. Please check out Kristen if you are looking for a make over. She is such a joy to work with.

Here are some directions around our new look for the family...

Pretty sweet right? Love love love.

Jackson finished off an awesome season with The Indians. We really love our t-ball family. They have been just amazing this year. We had an end of the year swim party with everyone and Jackson got his first trophy. It was big deal stuff. We are so proud of him. He did a great job and can't wait to play fall ball.

About me!

I'm Ra. I say y'all a lot and over punctuate like no ones business. I just felt like you
should know that up front. I love my sweet tea split with lots of ice, the beach, great food, live music, my husband, kid and Jesus. Not necessarily in that order. I also like my soda water, beer and gummy bears cold. The first two with lime. I'm kind of a walking contradiction but, it works. At least for now.
It's ever changing that's for sure.

This is B.  Dreamy husband since 04'. Awesome all around guy since even before that.
They don't make them like they used to, that's for sure. He makes me a better person. He is a kick ass daddy. The kind that comes home and wrestles in his work clothes and likes to play kickball
in the front yard. He likes to run. That's weird but, we keep him anyway.
He is also nice to look at. Your welcome.

This is Jackson. 4 in June and the love of our lives. He remembers everything, so watch what you say.
He is an animated story teller. Soccer, t-ball, the lake, beach, spending time with his
friends, family, sable, snow cones, and shrimp. This little guy loves big. The easiest kid ever.
I don't know how we got so lucky.
