Well...

Hello Baby.

Big brother so in love.

Sorry for the radio silence. The first trimester got me good this time. It's true what they say, every pregnancy is so different.  We are beyond excited and Jackson is on cloud 9 as this whole baby idea was his. Smitten would be an understatement. Hopefully, now that I am feeling more human I will be updating through our crazy fall.

I'm closer to 15w now but, these are the belly pictures so far. Just so I have them somewhere. Here we go again!

Daddies 1st 10k

I don't know if I have bragged on here about Daddy lately but, he has picked up running. Like everything he does he has completely committed and holy moly is he doing awesome. He is actually  signed up to run his first half marathon in a couple months. Tonight he ran a local 10k with his running club and did awesome by meeting his goal! He finished in 48:16 and we couldn't be more proud!

For this race they shuttled us to the finish line so we had plenty of time to get set up and ready to watch the runners come in. Jackson made this sign for daddy this week. He wanted it to say "Go Daddy Run" and colored it our favorite colors. The calculator is his "keyboard, so he can work". He was typing in the numbers of the runners as they crossed the finish line. Hey, what ever keeps him occupied. ;)

It rained pretty hard about 30 minutes before the race started so I carried the umbrella with us just in case. I think a strong wind blew some rain drops on us while we were waiting and he NEEDED to get it out and be safe from the rain.

Daddy is almost here. He was so nervous about the people standing in the road. He wanted them to move so he could see better.

Here he is! Go Daddy Run. I wish I would have videoed this moment because what you can't see and hear is Jackson screaming for B. It was so sweet! Boy, was he waving that sign too.

Great finish. Right at his goal!!! and
HE CAME IN 1ST IN HIS AGE GROUP!!!

After race stretching and Jackson was giving him bandaids for some reason. He was so proud.

Great job Daddy! We love you so much.

Pre-K

It happened. Our baby started school and he will go for the next 17 or so odd years including college. Crazy cakes.

We choose to send Jackson to a private school in town. It just felt right, more so after daddy went for Open house and left feeling 100% about our decision. Jackson's teachers this year are Mrs. Jennifer and Mrs. Kelley. They are both so sweet.

Here are some pictures from open house. He was really cautious, checking everything out but, we were hopeful his first day would be tear free.

We have really been talking up school. Got some new shoes, a special book to read.

Nanny even came over one day and helped Jackson make a countdown banner. He was very excited last night when he was at the bottom!

So this morning we got up and ready for the big day. I won't lie, I was nervous. In true Jackson form he ran in the front door, excited to find his class. He jumped in the room and didn't even look back. Literally. I was so thankful. Really, I couldn't have asked for anything more than him to be that excited.

His first day went great. He was so excited when I picked him up. Talking non stop about his day. When I asked him what he learned today and I quote he said "Not to much. I learned Racoons are octernal (Nocternal). but, it was cool". So there ya have it. He is very excited to go back and is already planning his snack for tomorrow. I guess snack time is a big deal in pre-k. ;)

After school, I told him he could pick anywhere to go special for lunch. He picked Waffle House. Barf. He talked the entire lunch and even gave me this little dancing show he wanted me to tape. I would say Day 1 was a huge success. We are so proud. :) Yes, all of these words and emotions for a 4 day a week, half day pre-k. Lord, help us. Having kids makes you a softy.

Currently,

Seeing: Jack passed out next to me in bed. He needed a "snuggle mommy" and who am I to ever say no. These moments are my favorite.

Smelling: The cool air from the fan, and my new treats Nanny got me for my birthday Eucalyptus Mint from BBW is my favorite.

Tasting: Perrier. Lots of ice with lemons. and thinking about the coconut cake we will have at Dad's party tonight.

Listening: To Alabama Shakes. A friend turned me onto them and I am hooked. We got tickets to see them in September. Also, the new Zac Brown Band cd. Super awesome. I am so proud of those guys. Brian went to elementary-highschool with Zac and I went to college with his wife Shelley. It's crazy to think we used to see them with 15 people jamming out. I love that they are still the same even though they have blown up!

Touching: My iPhone. Instagram obsessed. You can follow me if you find "mommara" on there.

Also, I have to give a great big,
WE LOVE YOU & HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY DADDY!
He is truly a fine figure of a man. We love you so much. xoxo

Sunflowers

A few weeks ago we met some friends at the Sunflower patch in Rutledge. It was so worth the drive. The heat was out of control but, the background was stunning. I can't wait to make this a yearly trip!
Get ready for picture overload. ;)

Happy 4th {err 6th} of July!

We celebrated our country's birthday on the 4th. We had an awesome family day. Great family 3 hour nap, then we went to CC's and had an awesome dinner. Daddy was on the grill with the steaks and we did a spicy crap dip on top. Yummo. We bought a little $10 fireworks pack at Publix and had a little fun in the driveway.

Jackson was very excited this year to see the fireworks but, as you can see he would go through this range of emotions. Not sure, straight up worried, sad, and then excited. Man, it was a roller coaster.
I think we have decided once again that sparklers are where it's at.
Maybe next year.
Our little patriotic guy. He loves this country and talks about "Go America!" all the time.
Hope your 4th was a wonderful day too. We are so very thankful to those who fight for our freedom and can't be with their family any day but, especially holidays.

Jackson's 4th Birthday Party

Jackson got to pick his theme this year and not surprisingly he wanted a baseball party.
We had so much fun celebrating with our friends and family. A big thanks to everyone who helped out! Getting supplies, making food, helping set up and clean up! You made the day so much fun!

The decorations were pretty low key but, very cute. Jackson wanted me to make cupcakes. I will have to add a photo but, instagram is acting funny.
This was one of my favorite things. So funny. I loved everyone getting in it.

The piƱata was a fun part too. That little thing was tough to crack open. All the kids got a few turns and I may have had to step in and beat it open. ;)
Hanging out {where was Amanda?!}, and opening presents. Everyone spoiled our boy even though we said he needed nothing.

Sunday we set out to have a special day with our three year old. Since Monday was his actual birthday.
We had a great lunch, went shopping for some of his favorite snacks and then threw in a family nap!
It was the perfect day.
Snuggles with daddy before our nap and our last good night with our three year old.
